SEAVIEW FARM WESTPORT

Seaview Farm Westport is dedicated to sustainable agriculture and producing diverse forms of high-quality fruits and vegetables.

Welcome to Seaview Farm Westport, I’m Jim Miltenburg.

As a child in the 1960’s, I grew up on a family farm in Orange County, Southern California.  I learned early on the responsibilities, pleasures and challenges of tending to a suburban working family farm.

Historically, farming played an important role in our development and identity as a nation. From strongly agrarian roots, we have evolved into a culture with few farmers.  Seaview Farm Westport has dedicated itself to Sustainable Agriculture with the following goals.

  • preserve biodiversity, maintain soil fertility and water purity, conserve and improve the chemical, physical and biological qualities of the soil, recycle natural resources and produce diverse forms of high-quality foods.
  • respect the ecological principles of diversity and interdependence and use the insights of modern science to improve rather than displace the traditional wisdom accumulated over centuries by innumerable farmers.  We also work to keep environmental impact below the level required to allow the systems affected to recover and continue to evolve.

At Seaview Farm Westport we are reminded that the COVID-19 lockdowns to slow the spread of the virus have disrupted the global food supply chain and its economic impacts have heightened awareness of the need for responsible food systems based on sustainable agriculture.

We still have work to complete before we officially open our doors to the public in a limited capacity, so please continue to check back regularly for updates.  If you’re planning to be in the area, or would like to drop by and just chat, please contact us at 707-727-5800 or by email at SeaviewFarmWestport@gmail.com.  We look forward to sharing with you the experience and adventure of Seaview Farm Westport.
